Certified Clinical Research Coordinator

Monique Barela, CCRC serves as our Senior Clinical Research Coordinator. She has a medical assistant degree and is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC). She is a Certified Clinical Rater and has conducted over 200 clinical trials as Sub-Investigator or as a clinical coordinator.

Clinical Research Coordinator 

Nikole holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Psychology from UCI. As a clinical research coordinator, she has taken the helm as the primary coordinator for numerous Alzheimer's disease studies. Nikole contributes as a psychometric rater on several research studies, showcasing her expertise and dedication to furthering our understanding of cognitive health and Alzheimer's disease.

Clinical Research Coordinator

Rebecca joined the team in June 2022 as a clinical research coordinator. She has worked in clinical trials since 2016, a journey from which she never looked back. Her background includes a degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA. In addition to her coordinator responsibilities, Rebecca serves as a pharmacist and Rater across several studies.

Clinical Research Coordinator

Naomi joined Syrentis Clinical Research in January 2021. In her role as a medical assistant, Naomi assists the team in collecting vital signs, performing phlebotomy, and helping with recruitment outreach efforts. As a clinical research coordinator, she has coordinated studies on Alzheimer’s Dementia.

Diversity & Community Outreach Coordinator

In his role as a Diversity & Community Outreach Coordinator, Reuben actively engages with underrepresented communities to raise awareness about the importance of clinical trials and healthcare equity. Reuben graduated in 2023 with a master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University in Biotechnology. 

Clinical Research Coordinator

Stephanie joined the team in May 2021 with a medical assistant certification and with first-hand experience as a caregiver for seniors with Alzheimer’s dementia. In her role as a clinical research coordinator, she has been the lead coordinator on several Alzheimer’s disease trials, a Binge Eating Disorder trial, and an ADHD trial. She also plays a vital role in assisting the team with recruitment efforts and phlebotomy. 

Clinical Research Coordinator

Mariana became part of Syrentis Clinical Research in March 2022, assuming the dual roles of medical assistant and clinical research coordinator. She has coordinated Alzheimer’s trials. Mariana actively contributes to recruitment outreach efforts, showcasing her versatility and dedication to the research process

Clinical Research Coordinator/Rater

Suman Kaul has obtained a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery and has transitioned to the clinical research field and is an experienced certified psychometric rater in Alzheimer’s and Depression trials. Suman has served as a clinical research coordinator. Additionally, she assists Dr. Bisesi with business development.

Director of Marketing and Advertising

Ana Nunez, in her role as Director of Marketing and Advertising, ensures that we seize every opportunity to sponsor and support health and wellness events and senior expos, aligning with our community outreach efforts and diversity goals. She also leads the recruitment team, ensuring that they reach out to all referrals in a timely fashion to facilitate screenings and study enrollment. 

Clinical Research Coordinator

Marlene joined Syrentis Clinical Research in June 2022 with experience in clinical research since October 2021. In her role as clinical research coordinator, she is the lead CRC on three Alzheimer’s disease trials and co-CRC on four other Alzheimer’s disease trials. In addition to her coordinator responsibilities, Marlene serves as the certified study rater in three other trials. She utilizes her skillset as a medical assistant to assist the team with phlebotomy and collecting vital signs and ECGs.

Front Office Manager 

Claribel joined Syrentis Clinical Research in March 2019, assuming the front office assistant role and transitioning to the role of front office manager. As the front office manager, she ensures seamless operations and oversees the front office medical assistants, guaranteeing a smooth and efficient patient experience. Claribel's duties encompass patient check-in and check-out, processing payments, scheduling all appointments, and maintaining the flow of the clinic. Additionally, she actively participates in recruitment efforts.

Clinical Research Coordinator

With her master’s degree in biotechnology from Azusa Pacific University, Olivia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a Clinical Research Coordinator. In addition to her coordinating responsibilities, Olivia serves as a pharmacist for one of the Alzheimer's studies.

Clinical Research Coordinator

In her role as a Clinical Research Coordinator, Emily serves as the lead coordinator for two Alzheimer’s disease trials. Beyond her coordination responsibilities, Emily serves as a pharmacist on numerous research studies. 

Registered Nurse (RN)/Infusion Specialis

Mark received his BS degree in biology from UCI in 1980 and later earned his RN degree in 2013. He has worked in clinical trials since 2020 and primarily serves as an infusion specialist.

Contract Specialist/Lead Pharmacist

In her role as a contract specialist, she maintains invoicing per study contract, follows and implements amended contract changes, and ensures all billable events are accurately billed. Additionally, Maria assumes the role of Lead Pharmacist, overseeing the comprehensive training of new pharmacists. Beyond her pharmacy duties, Maria assists with our recruitment efforts to identify and onboard top-tier talent for the site.

Clinical Research Coordinator

Equipped with a master’s degree in biotechnology from Azusa Pacific University, Yizel currently coordinates an Alzheimer's study while providing valuable assistance in various other memory studies as a certified clinical rater. She fulfills the role of pharmacist in multiple research studies.

Front Office Administrative Assistant

Aya Rabbaa brings 8 years of experience in sales and social media management to her role as a Front Office Administrative Assistant, which she assumed in 2024. Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, Aya plays a crucial role in ensuring the front office runs smoothly. She is passionate about meeting new people and learning about clinical trials, and she also enjoys exploring her creative side through photography.
